A letter from Elizabeth Hage to Mrs. Alvern Wendel explains the  vacation/sick leave policy. After suggesting the current policy to the Scott County Library Board, Ms. Hage had contacted the American Library Association, Ms. Hazel B. Timmerman, for a recommendation. The ALA recommedation was the same as Ms. Hage's. Ms. Hage mentions House Bill  143, and hopes that it will not be passed.

Marilyn Fahrenkrog was part of the Scott County Rural & Urban Teachers Committee that raised funds to start a bookmobile for Scott County. She saved some paperwork associated with the account at Donahue Saving Bank for bookmobile funds and gave it to Scott County library after hanging on to it for 72 years.

In 1991, the New Liberty branch moved to 501 Liberty St and doubled in size. The library was forced to move from a previous rental location and the Liberty Pattern company bought the house on Liberty Street with the idea to rent to the library.
